چکیده

The r-value of a sheet metal is a measure of plastic anisotropy frequently used for prediction of performance in deep-drawing. It has also gured prominently in the literature for validation of theories where the predicted angular dependence of r is compared with the measured dependence. As plastic anisotropy in sheet metals is caused mainly by the preferred orientations of grains within the polycrystalline metal, it is natural to ask how r would depend on the orientation distribution function (ODF) w which de nes the crystallographic texture of the polycrystal. In this paper a general formula relating r to w is derived for weakly-textured sheet metals whose plastic ow behavior is governed by a plastic potential f( ; w), where denotes the deviator of the Cauchy stress. Speci c forms of this formula for orthorhombic sheets of cubic and of hexagonal metals are explicitly given.

Considering a kinematical velocity admissible field, the upper bound method has beenused for predicting the amount of pressure in hydroforming of sheet metals. The effects of workhardening, friction and blank size have been considered in pressure prediction. Also the effect ofsheet thickness variation has been considered in the present work formulations. The relation betweenpressure and punch s...

Crack Tip Constraint for Anisotropic Sheet Metal Plate Subjected to Mode-I Fracture

On the ground of manufacturing, sheet metal parts play a key role as they cover about half of the production processes. Sheet metals are commonly obtained from rolling and forming processes which causes misalignment of micro structure resulting obvious anisotropic characteristics and micro cracks. Presence of micro cracks poses serious attention, when stresses at the tip reach to the critical v...

MHD Boundary Layer Flow and Heat Transfer of Newtonian Nanofluids over a Stretching Sheet with Variable Velocity and Temperature Distribution

Laminar boundary layer flow and heat transfer of Newtonian nanofluid over a stretching sheet with the sheet velocity distribution of the form (UW=cXβ) and the wall temperature distribution of the form (TW=T∞+aXr ) for the steady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) is studied numerically. The governing momentum and energy equations are transformed to the local non-similarity equations using the appropriat...

Two New Non-AFR Criteria for Depicting Strength Differential Effect (SDE) in Anisotropic Sheet Metals

The issue of pressure sensitivity of anisotropic sheet metals is investigated with introducing two new non-AFR criteria which are called here linear and non-Linear pressure sensitive criteria. The yield and plastic potential functions of these criteria are calibrated with directional tensile/compressive yield stresses and directional tensile Lankford coefficients, respectively. To determine unk...
